Direct Access to Physical Therapy

Do you have back pain or a recent injury? Or just aren’t moving or feeling your best?

If you have a problem related to the musculoskeletal system (bones, spine, joints, cartilage, muscles, tendons, and ligaments), a physical therapist can likely help you! Physical therapists use a combination of hands-on treatment and specific movement prescription to help you move and feel better. Here are some examples of conditions we frequently treat at Performance Plus Physical Therapy: back or neck pain, sciatica, nerve entrapments, arthritis, shoulder or arm pain, wrist or hand conditions, leg and foot pain, work injuries, injuries from motor vehicle accidents, headaches, jaw/temporomandibular joint disorders, and chronic pain. Physical therapy can also treat problems of the cardiovascular, neurological, or balance systems.

Did you know you can go directly to a physical therapist without needing a referral from your physician? Whether you just sprained your ankle or are having neck pain from your new “work-from-home” set up, a physical therapist can help you immediately. This means you don’t have to wait weeks for an appointment with your Primary Care Provider, just to be referred to a physical therapy clinic. Depending on your plan, your insurance may cover this service. For example, Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS), United Healthcare, Cigna and American Specialty Health (ASH) all cover direct access to physical therapy services. If you have questions about your specific insurance plan, or how physical therapy can help you, contact us for more information!
